Andrew possesses a unique combination of experience and leadership obtained from his successful endeavors in private enterprise and professional football. Andrew was born in Arizona and attended college at Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Communications. While at ASU, Andrew was a record-setting quarterback on the football team and the team's only three-year captain. He also set numerous Pac-10 passing records.
Andrew's hard work, will to overcome adversity, and demonstrated calm under pressure made him a highly sought-after prospect in the 2005 NFL Draft, where he was selected 69th overall by the Oakland Raiders. Andrew played in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots.
Andrew was the first NFL player to participate in the Player Development program in commercial real estate at CB Richard Ellis in Phoenix. During this time, he returned to ASU where he earned his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business. While pursuing his MBA, Andrew recognized the importance of providing capital to job creators which motivated him to found Andrew Walter Holdings, a senior secured lending firm. Andrew also gained valuable experience in underwriting when he served as a credit analyst for MidFirst Bank in Phoenix.
In addition to his successes in private enterprise and professional football, Andrew is devoted to his faith, active in the community, and passionate about business. He's active in his church, Redemption Tempe, where he met his wife Inning Chen, an optometrist practicing in Mesa. Andrew recognizes the sacrifices our armed service members make on a daily basis and is proud to serve on the Advisory Board of the Veteran Tickets Organization, a Scottsdale non-profit that connects Veterans with game, show, and event tickets.
Andrew is also passionate about aviation, which is a deep-rooted family tradition. A third generation pilot, he's admittedly not nearly as accomplished as his grandfather who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II or his father who's been a commercial airline pilot for over 30 years.
Andrew currently resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Inning, and their Doberman, Duchess.
